They both were movers and fervent supporters of the idea for the resurgence of the Olympic Games which took place in the Kallimarmaron Pan-Athenian Stadium [The Stadium], at Athens [Place Names], in 1896.
The ancient Olympic Games were abolished in 394 A.D. by the Byzantine Emperor [List of Emperors] Theodosius I (the Great).
