Sevastopoulion School Of Labour

It was founded on April 24th, 1908, by Dimitrios Vikelas {Δημήτριος Βικέλας}, an assertive man and president of the Club for the Diffusion of Useful Books. Dimitrios Vikelas and Baron Pierre De Coubertin [500 Drachmas] [International Olympic Committee] where the movers and fervent supporters of the idea for the resurgence of the Olympic Games. Since a great amount of money (28,500 gold francs) was donated by Konstandinos Sevastopoulos {Κωνσταντίνος Σεβαστόπουλος} through his last will and testament, they honored him by giving his name to the school.

The school is located behind the residence of the Ambassador of the United States of America, at Panagi Kiriakou {Παναγή Κυριακού} street.

Thousands of young people have graduated from the school, after having been trained as carpenters, turners and electricians.
