(Academy of Fine Arts in Munich) and is regarded as a leading

young age.
He
was very young when he was admitted to the School
of Fine Arts , where he proved an
excellent student. On graduating, he was awarded a scholarship to study in Munich at the
expense of the Church of the Annunciation of The Theotokos {Ieros Naos Evangkelistrias Tinou
~ Ιερός Ναός Ευαγγελιστρίας Τήνου} on Tinos.
The human being in his surroundings was always at the centre of the artist's attention, as were human forms in an idealised world. Thanks to the variety of his subject matter, Gizis' work [Olympic Certificate] [200 Drachmas] is multifaceted, full of grace and creativity. It is known for its wonderful harmony and the fullness of its colour composition.
