We guess you follow the news regarding trams, electric trains and suburban railways.
Here are some pieces information which you might not know:
Athens had a tram line from 1882, which was REMOVED in 1960 and now, in the year 2003, it is being reconstructed, from scratch.
Piraeus had a tram line shortly after 1882, which was REMOVED in 1977 and now, in the year 2003, it is also being reconstructed, from scratch.
Thessalonika had a tram line from 1889, when it was still under Ottoman rule.
Horse driven, steam driven, or electric trams have also existed in Volos, Patras, Kalamata and the island of Samos, which, of course, have also been removed...
