Magnetic Train

Back to where you came from. The same text in Greek.

It is currently under test in Germany, a train which has no physical contact with the railway, but levitates in a special elevated guideway, with the help of a magnetic field.

It is called Transrapid, the magnetic train which links Berlin with Hamburg with a speed of 248.5 miles per hour.

It has a high power consumption and small transport ability, as it has size limitations and it cannot stop in many intermediate destinations.

The cost for its contruction was about ten times higher, than a double electric powered high-speed line for I.C.E. trains (InterCity Express) and it gives cause for apprehension to the Germans.
