It was inspired and constructed by the Chief Engineer Viron Papageorgiou {Βύρων Παπαγεωργίου} and was completed in 1961, in Piraeus' factory, in the framework of an experimental programme for the recycling of rolling stock. For its construction they used a steam engine carriage and a motorail engine.
