The Egkastromenos Residence

Back to where you came from. The same text in Greek.

Aleksandros Egkastromenos {Αλέξανδρος Εγκαστρωμένος}, or Kastromenos {Καστρομένος}, and his wife Anastasia {Αναστασία}, built in the end of the 18th century a comfortable mansion and named it OASIS {Όασις}. It was located where the edifice complex known as Apollo Tower {Πύργος Απόλλων} stands today, near Panormou {Πανόρμου} station of the subway.

Sculptor Georgios Kastriotis {Γεώργιος Καστριώτης} lived and created his works in this mansion. The last resident of the mansion was his sister, Zoi Trakada {Ζωή Τρακαδά}.

The mansion was demolished in 1966.
