"Lucky" was a word that should not be heard during the "I Love Lucy" [Desilu Productions] shows. So the cast resorted to using other words, i.e. "Fortunate". Philip Morris, being the sponsor of the show, was behind this peculiarity. They were afraid that the word "Lucky" would remind the audience of "Lucky Strike", a brand marketed by one of their competitors in the tobacco industry.
